FLAGG CABINS

Weogufka, AL
2021

Stick provided architectural documentation of Flagg Mountain’s CCC-era log cabins to assist the Alabama Trails Foundation in submitting the site for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. The methodology and process for this work conformed to standards outlined by the Library of Congress’ Historic American Buildings Survey. The project received funding support from the University of Alabama Center for Economic Development.

The cabins finally received NRHP designation in 2024, making official their significance as well-preserved examples of New Deal-era craftsmanship and the Civilian Conservation Corps’ impact on Alabama’s public lands.
